Residential Care Homes are licensed to provide assistance with activities of daily living to individuals in the State of Connecticut. These facilities provide assistance with activities such as bathing, meal preparation (with special diet considerations), laundry, and housekeeping. Our staff is also certified to pass medication. Many of the elderly in residential care facilities cannot live alone but do not need the constant medical services provided in a nursing home. All clients are medically monitored by the staff nurse and staff accompany clients to medical appointments. We encourage the clients to remain as independent as possible.
We have an extensive recreation program designed to meet different capabilities and interests. Our staff also spends time with residents individually so that everyone is able to do things they enjoy. Transportation is provided.
All clients at Tidelawn Manor must be ambulatory (some use canes or walkers) and they must be continent of bowel and bladder. Some of our clients may be forgetful or confused.
Independent residents enjoy access to all of the shopping, touring, and cultural events the shoreline has to offer -- with easy, affordable transportation on the shoreline shuttle bus.
Tidelawn provides a meaningful environment in which seniors can live a peaceful and healthy life.
Tidelawn Manor accepts private pay residents and residents who receive Medicaid. Please call for rates and a tour of our facility.
There are approximately 100 RCHs licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health, a Division of Community Based Services.
